Birkdale, Kirk Ella

This development consisted of demolishing circa 15no existing masonry garages, reducing the entire site by 1m in depth, and then constructing the 5no 2 bedroom apartments.

A traditionally built construction, consisting of traditional strip foundations, block/beam ground floor, hollowcore 1st/2nd floors, brick/block to all perimeters, pre-trussed roof with a concrete tile roof finish.

The development was designed to meet the environmental and economical demands of the local authority. Specific materials were used to meet the required sound/heat loss requirements, along with solar panels and weather compensators that reduced the environmental impact. Re-verberation tests along with air and sound tests were carried out and approved on all of the apartments.

Externally the apartments consist of tarmac parking areas along with planted areas. A new footpath has also been formed to provide access form the apartments to the local amenities.
